Halloween DIY Potion Bottles – free printable (Cricut friendly)

Halloween DIY Potion Bottles – free printable (Cricut friendly)

Oct 13, 2022DIY Crafts, Freebies, Holiday

Today I am coming back with another Halloween DIY woot woot! This was a super fun and inexpensive craft, you can check your local craft store for some decorative bottles or grab some off amazon. I did a mixture of both, plus hit up that dollar section at target!

Before we get started – if applicable, you will need to remove any labels. This can be done through lemon essential oil or a good soak and scrub. Next wait for your bottles to dry before applying any paint.

Painting

There are two ways to paint your bottles. First is just by applying 2-3 coats of paint and the second method is by mixing with baking soda and acrylic paint to give it that ceramic look that so many have fallen in love with, including me! Note that this method only requires 2 coats of paint.

I used Folkart’s ONE decor paint – Farmhouse White and Blossom. Other pinks I would use would be any corals or peach colors, mixed in with creams and light browns even. You should be able to find these paints off amazon or your local craft store.

After painting your bottles make sure to give them plenty of time to dry. In the meantime, download your FREE potion label and head over to cricut design space and upload your labels. Choose the print and cut option and make your stickers. I hope you love these labels as much as we do. My girls were so excited to see something other than your typical “eye of newt” or “poison” and in colors that matched their room’s ascetics – no moldy blacks here!

***If you do not have a cricut you can go ahead and just print on sticker paper then cut yourself. Also if you do not have sticker paper, you can always punch a hole in the top and string it onto the bottle, give it that alice in wonderland look!

Once your bottles are dry, you could hot glue some twine to the tops like Stephanie Hanna did in her’s which look so adorable and really gives it that extra touch or go a head and add your stickers. I will most definitely be adding twine to mine next year, because I have convinced myself I will have more time then HA!

After adding the labels for your bottles I like to add a layer of mod podge all over the bottle and label just to seal it all in. Then that’s it!

Like I said this was such an easy craft, I was able to do this and my bubbly cauldron in the same day! I styled mine by adding corks, disco balls, and some pampas grasses, to the tops. For more halloween decor check out my amazon storefront for all my halloween faves!
